“Congratulations to AI Health’s Equity Scholar Michael Cary, PhD, RN, and special thanks to the Duke Faculty Advancement Seed Awards for his successful symposium on Fostering AI Research for Health Equity and Learning Transformation Hub (FAIR HEALTH™) at Duke University, with 185 attendees including faculty, staff, students, and representatives from external organizations. Keynotes by Lisa Lehmann of Harvard University and Maia Hightower of Equality AI highlighted AI’s potential in addressing health disparities, while panel discussions and breakout sessions emphasized interdisciplinary collaboration and education for advancing AI-driven health equity. Attendees left inspired and eager for future involvement in data science projects. Moving forward, the FAIR HEALTH Initiative aims to develop a research agenda, launch a website for community building, and pursue grants to further its mission of leveraging AI for equitable healthcare.”
